I haven’t had time to write lately, as my mother broke her foot and I’ve been helping her. My mind has been on a title for my novel. It’s about a girl in the 1940’s who realizes her father isn’t who she thinks he is. It’s reminiscent of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, a favourite story of mine since I was a girl, but goes into the backstory of the father. I’m hoping to have it published this fall.
In the story the family moves quite often and the girl longs for some stability and a real home. My working title is A Home For Peggy. I thought Homes and Dreams might work. It’s a play on words.
What do you think? I’d be open to other suggestions.
I’m also working on a book cover. This is a very amateur attempt but I like this idea.
Any feedback is welcome.
