Let me tell you Justine's story

Month: October 2017

I’m A Full-Time Author Now

Today was my last day as an Educational Assistant, a position I’ve held for thirty years. I’ve loved working with kids who have special needs but it’s come for me to pursue my dream of writing full-time. I’m registered for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWritMo). The challenge is to write a 50 000 Word Novel… Read More I’m A Full-Time Author Now

Onto a New Chapter

Tomorrow is my last day of work before I retire. My book Not My Story To Tell has been published in paperback. I’m still working on the Kindle version. It should be out by the end of the week. I had a successful book launch last week and have sold almost all 200 books I… Read More Onto a New Chapter

My Book is Published!

Self-publishing is not for the weak of heart. It’s time consuming and there’s so much to learn. I’ve written about the process here and here. The best part about it however is when people ask me who the publisher is I can answer “me!” Writing my book Not My Story To Tell seemed to be… Read More My Book is Published!

Whew! What an Exhilarating Whirlwind!

Not My Story To Tell has been published in paperback! I’m still working on the e-book version, which should have been much easier but I’ve encountered a glitch and I’ll call Monday to remedy that. I’ve had my big launch with a huge crowd of over one hundred people who helped me celebrate my retirement… Read More Whew! What an Exhilarating Whirlwind!

One Week to Go!

Today my coworkers had a cake for me at our staff meeting. The only problem was I had worked through my lunch break while at an all day retreat so I asked to leave early. They saved the cake for me.

Exciting Day!

I have two reasons to celebrate today. My author’s copy has arrived and I signed my retirement papers! I’ve ordered two hundred copies of the book for my book launch. Wish me luck they arrive on time.

No News is Good News

I’ve been extremely busy editing and resending my manuscript for my book, Not My Story To Tell until I was sure it was finally perfect. You can read about my initial setbacks here. My book is in the final stages and I’m waiting patiently for my author’s copy to be delivered to my house. My… Read More No News is Good News

I’m Waiting For My Author’s Copy

I’ve sent my final edited copy of my book, Not My Story to Tell: My Journey Through Grief, Loving and losing a daughter with bipolar disorder to be made into a book. This has been a journey in itself. I finally feel it’s perfect after countless editing and phone calls. I’ve tried to remain calm… Read More I’m Waiting For My Author’s Copy

A Month of “Lasts”

I am working the last month of my career as an Educational Assistant. My last day is October 26th. Today, I did my very last bus duty of my life. Bus duty entails standing outside on top of a big hill. On gorgeous days like today, it’s a pleasure but in the middle of winter,… Read More A Month of “Lasts”
