Painting in Florida

I’ve participated in a couple of open art sessions and finished two paintings. The watercolour is from a photograph of my grandson, Oliver when he was two. The day was a special memory because we had a small gathering to spread Justine’s ashes in the memorial garden. The name painting is done in acrylic paint… Read More Painting in Florida

The Surprises Keep Coming

A few days ago I got a certificate and monetary gift from my union. I was pleasantly surprised since I retired months ago and didn’t expect anything. I wrote about that here. Today I got an invitation to the school board retiree dinner.

I Received a Gift in the Mail Today!

I got a package in the mail from my union. As many of you know, I retired in October after working with the school board for thirty years. You can read more about how I combined my book launch with my retirement party here. I received this certificate with a monetary gift today.

Here’s to 2018!

A year ago I wrote that 2017 was going to be a fabulous year and it surpassed even my wildest dreams. You can read my 2017 New Year post here. I was excited to find out what surprises were coming and I got the biggest surprise of all. I published my book Not My Story… Read More Here’s to 2018!

Parties (Chapter from “Not My Story To Tell”)

This excerpt is from my memoir Not My Story To Tell. One other party turned out to be very memorable. Justine had invited some friends for a hot tub party and sleepover. She was about eighteen. I was home but they didn’t need any supervision. Greg was working overnight and I just stayed in my… Read More Parties (Chapter from “Not My Story To Tell”)

Tomorrow is my last day of work before I retire. My book Not My Story To Tell has been published in paperback. I’m still working on the Kindle version. It should be out by the end of the week. I had a successful book launch last week and have sold almost all 200 books I… Read More Onto a New Chapter

Whew! What an Exhilarating Whirlwind!

Not My Story To Tell has been published in paperback! I’m still working on the e-book version, which should have been much easier but I’ve encountered a glitch and I’ll call Monday to remedy that. I’ve had my big launch with a huge crowd of over one hundred people who helped me celebrate my retirement… Read More Whew! What an Exhilarating Whirlwind!

One Week to Go!

Today my coworkers had a cake for me at our staff meeting. The only problem was I had worked through my lunch break while at an all day retreat so I asked to leave early. They saved the cake for me.

Exciting Day!

I have two reasons to celebrate today. My author’s copy has arrived and I signed my retirement papers! I’ve ordered two hundred copies of the book for my book launch. Wish me luck they arrive on time.
