Expressing Gratitude Helps

My friend and I had made plans to visit another friend who had been hit by a car while riding her bike. We’d made food to take and planned to leave this morning. Everything changed when we were bombarded with reports of an impending snowstorm. We remained optimistic and planned to check again this morning.

This is what it said this morning:

We called off the trip and I found myself sitting looking out the window at the most beautiful, sun shiny day. I got angry. Why did they warn us?

I decided I didn’t like feeling that way so I thought of things I was grateful for.

The sunshine was the first thing! Who doesn’t like sunshine? I was angry at the sunshine. Then the list got longer and longer and I feel much better.

I’m not sure why we didn’t go but I have to remember my motto:

EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON

  1. A quote from my book “I’m not an ‘everthing happens for a reason’ person…” Haha, I am more of a “make lemonade out of lemons”… which is of course almost the same thing 😉 Glad you enjoyed your day anyway – hope your friend is doing well!
