We went to the farm with our students today. You can read about our weekly visits to the farm here. Today was special because the parents were invited and each student received a ribbon. We had lunch together and visited the animals.
What made this day even more important is that it was the last day of school for the students. I wrote about how important it was for teachers and students to have a holiday last semester here. It’s a chance to rejuvenate and be fresh.
It’s bittersweet to see the students board the bus, knowing they won’t be back for two months. We take such pride in all their accomplishments and see how much they have matured and grown. We also understand we all need a break.
I’m looking forward to summer holiday. In August I’ll be looking forward to returning for another school year. It will be my last full year before I retire so it will be an important one.
Every day, in that last year, will no doubt be a special one. Have a great summer.

I will try to remember that. Such great advice! Live each day! After 42 years in the working world I will need to cherish the last year.
