One of my childhood dreams came true a couple of years ago when my husband and our good friends, Anne and Mike, took a road trip to Prince Edward Island. Anne and Mike’s talented daughter, Sarah was performing at the Charlottetown Festival in “Anne of Green Gables.” I’ve loved that story since I read the book when I was twelve. We stayed in a farm house that reminded me of Green Gables”. It was a magical trip.
I found that place enchanting, on a 1973 visit to PEI.

I can’t wait to go back. We decided we wanted to move there after we came back.

I still re-read the book every four years or so–and a visit to PE Island is definitely on my bucket list. Looks like you had a wonderful visit, Cathy!

I’ve re-read it twice more as an adult and loved it even more. After I read Green Gables as a child I went to the library and read ALL of LM Montgomery books in quick succession.

I am still reading them! And I found LMM’s journals recently, too!

That’s a nice coincident because I wrote that I loved this book when a child, exactly a week ago. It’s so many years since I rread it that I don’t remember the location of the story, but I’m assuming this is it. So lovely to see, I really should get a copy and read it again as well as the whole series I never finished, one day.

I think it was your post that prompted me to post this. So many people from all over the world love Anne and I’m lucky enough to live in Canada. You would love it just as much as an adult. I’ve read it three times.

That’s nice to know. I also remember a television series that I loved as much as the book.
