December 8, 1980, John Lennon was murdered in New York. That was 35 years ago. I thought it appropriate to share a quote from the very talented genius. This quote isn’t as famous as some of his other ones but I liked it.
I’m entering this in Writer’s Quote Wednesday. You can see the other entries or enter yourself here.
That is definitely the truth! A wonderful quote that reminds us of the value of honesty in all of our relationships. Great choice, Cathy. I could not believe that he has been gone that long. Where does time go? ❤

I was shocked when I realized how long ago it was too. I had only been married 2 months when it happened so I should be able to remember.

I always liked his philosophy on life. Much of that is reflected in the words he wrote. I think he was brilliant. His songs show such a depth of feeling. That’s why the Beatles did so well, I believe.

Thank you for commemorating John Lennon. He was indeed a way-shower and truth seeker his life long through. Musically, of course, he was a ground-breaking forerunner, who was in a band that revolutionized rock-n-roll as the world knew it, but he introduced a generation to the mantra, “All you need is love.” And his glib wit was so utterly British and unapologetic. The world has not seen John Lennon’s like since. It is a shame to consider what more he clearly would have created had he not been murdered at 40. But 35 years on, and here I am reading words he left behind, and that’s a good thing.
