I’m very honoured to have been nominated for the Liebster Award!

Thank you very much Catherine for nominating me for this award. I will do my best to answer the questions.

1) If I was having a dinner party with people who have departed this life, I would invite my daughter, Justine who died last year in a car accident. She was always fun at parties and family gatherings. I can hear her laugh right now! I would invite my dad, who has been gone for 20 years. Justine sure took after him in the “party” department. He was always “the life of the party”. I would invite my mother-in-law and father-in-law who were married 66 years and died within 6 weeks of each other, just a year before Justine did. They were great conversationalists and had so many stories to share. The fifth person would be my childhood friend, Connie who died at age 33 of cancer. It’s never been the same since she left us way too soon. She was the “glue” that kept us all together. She was so much fun!

2) Happiness is many different things to me. Sometimes it’s getting together with family and friends and other times, it’s sitting alone in my garden on a sunny day reading a book. Taking a trip or a holiday to someplace new and exciting is happiness. Spending time with my 5 month old grandson is the ultimate happiness!

3) Most people are good. If someone is judgemental then I think it stems from insecurity or fear. They’ve likely been bullied or treated meanly by someone else in their lives.

4) Paris, France is where I would choose for my all expenses paid trip. I’ve always dreamed of going to Paris, sitting in an outdoor café and sipping wine. Seeing the Eiffel Tower and the Arche de Triomphe would be such a thrill. It’s such a romantic place.

5) I certainly believe music is essential in our lives. I’ve been thinking about music a lot lately. As a teenager, I absolutely adored Carole King. I played her albums over and over and over again. She seemed to be singing right to my soul. I had the pleasure of seeing her in concert a few years ago and I was mesmerized. I read her autobiography and just yesterday I learned that the show, “Beautiful, The Carole King Musical” is coming to Toronto next year. My sister and I plan to see it.

6) My resilience is my best quality. I can bounce back from anything life has to throw at me. I think the reason I can do this is that I have a firm belief in the Laws of Attraction. I know that if I dwell on negativity, then bad things will come to me but if I think positive thoughts and do good things then I will be rewarded with abundance and joy. It will gain momentum and more and more good things will happen.

7) I’m not perfect but I don’t like to point out my perceived faults because of the reasons I stated above. Thinking or talking badly about myself will attract negative energy toward me and I won’t be able to improve what I think is wrong. I’ll be stuck in a spiral of always being what I don’t want to be instead of what I do want.

8) Pasta would be my last meal. I’ve been limiting my white carbs because eating them spikes my blood sugar, causing my glycemic index to rise. This in turn cases hunger and the cycle starts again. If I only had one more meal I would make sure it was high in carbs so I would add some crusty Italian bread with it. And butter! My sister makes real Italian sauce so I would have that over Linguini.

9) I love old movies from the 1940s and 1950s. I really love the melodramas starring  beautiful actresses like Lana Turner and Susan Hayworth. If I had to pick one, it would be “Back Street”. It starred Susan Hayworth and John Gavin. They fall in love and he invites her to go away with him. She has car trouble and misses the flight and he thinks she doesn’t love him. He marries Lana Turner’s character but he still loves Susan Hayworth’s character. They meet up years later and he’s unhappy in his marriage but his wife won’t divorce him. He buys a house for his mistress on a little back street and they have an affair for many years. It’s pure soap opera but I really like those old movies.

10) A friend is someone who won’t judge you. You can tell anything to your friend and you know they won’t tell anyone else. It’s a person who knows everything about you but likes you anyway.

11) I love chocolate. A moist piece of chocolate cake with creamy fudge icing would be a favourite dessert.

Now I have the privilege to nominate 5 people who are very deserving. It was a very difficult decision. Please answer these questions and nominate 5 people who you think deserves this award.

1) What does blogging means to you.?

2) How has it enriched your life?

3) What you hope to achieve?

4) What you enjoy about blogging?

5) What do you not enjoy about the blogging world?

  1. Thanks always for your support Scott. I really thought you deserved to be nominated but I respected your request that you just want to be a hobbiest and don’t really want to participate in all the other stuff. I hope I understood correctly.

  2. Congratulations Cathy. You really deserve all the recognition. 🙂

    We have a few similarities.

Paris is our favorite destination. 🙂 I hope you have seen “an evening in Paris.”

I also like Pasta a lot. Though I don’t crave for it or any other meal. 🙂

I understand about law of attraction you are talking about. Please give some more love to grandson from my side. I love young children 🙂

Wishing you very best in your blogging and life,

    Anand 🙂
